Update

Hello Everyone, I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Crane and several other Thorncliffe Park PS staff. We are all missing our wonderful students and hoping that you are all staying safe and healthy. Mr. Crane, Ms. Wolf and Ms. Rogers, along with our superintendent, have been working away and trying to prepare for the coming weeks. They are trying their best to figure out a plan moving forward that will allow students the best possible learning experience, given the circumstances. At this time, teachers have been asked to NOT post any work for their students to complete. Thus, I will no longer be posting activities here on the blog. I am available by email, should you need or want to connect! Please know that we are all working together, trying to figure out the best way of moving forward with teaching and learning in this very unusual time. We will update you as soon as possible. Wishing you all continued health and happiness, Mrs. Page

Activity #2

Before the break, we were working on descriptive writing. Today, take a look out your window. Write about what you see. Make sure to use interesting vocabulary and adjectives that describe what you’re looking at. Type your writing below if you’d like to share! MP

Activity #1

We’ll start with a math activity that is familiar to my students. It’s appears in math tests and as part of a math challenge. Please post some of your solutions below, if you’d like! 1. The answer is 16. What is the question? OR 2. The answer is 99. What is the question?

If you complete the challenge, upload a photo or post a comment so I can check out your work! Prodigy, of course, remains active. Wishing you all the best, Mrs Page

Hello from Home

Hello to my dear students and families, I hope you are all staying healthy as we navigate this difficult time in our country, and across the globe. I, and my family, are well. We are keeping to ourselves, doing lots of arts and crafts and spending some time outdoors when we can. Starting on Monday, I will be posting a few activities each day that students can try at home. No obligation, but if you’re looking for something to do, I will stick some activities up here and you’re welcome to comment with your answers and ideas. My understanding is that the ministry of education will also be providing curriculum-based programming during school closures. I will update with any links to that, once they are published. Please continue to check the TDSB website for any updates as well. Wishing you all the best and very much hoping to see you April 6, Mrs. Page
